Absurd Creations is the brainchild of Al Mercer - a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, accidental producer, and full-time chaos enthusiast from Austin, Texas. What started as late-night bedroom recordings on a broken four-track has grown into one of the most unpredictable live acts in the underground circuit.

Drawing from surf rock, lo-fi jazz, noise pop, and the occasional polka detour, Al's music defies easy categorization. His 2023 record Furniture On Fire was recorded entirely in a rented storage unit and described by one reviewer as "the sound of a man wrestling a synthesizer and somehow winning."

Al performs live with a rotating cast of collaborators, a wall of vintage gear, and an unshakeable commitment to keeping things weird.
